Clinical Scientist in Microbiology and Molecular Biology to join the Orlando Regional Medical Center team. Candidates must have a Master's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science and five years of hospital lab experience in the area of expertise. Candidates with a PhD are preferred. Position requires a current license in the specialty (ies) by the laboratory section in the state of Florida. Must be certified by a professional laboratory certifying agency (i.e., ASCP), renewed yearly. Clinical Laboratory training and laboratory experience are required. The Clinical Scientist is responsible for the technical operation of the specialty laboratory area and act as an expert consultant for the medical staff. Provide consultation on appropriate testing to meet clinical expectations and provides interpretation of test results. Evaluate technical developments and incorporate into the routine operations of the department. Recommend test methodologies for highly complex testing. Interact with the medical staff regarding clinical laboratory procedures. Review results and quality control data for accuracy and reliability. Direct the development of technical policies and procedures and plays an active role in the education of the technical staff and medical staff physicians.103677
